Crow Country - A deliciously disgusting tale of fun and woe!

December 29, 2025

What an experience! I cannot overstate how much I loved going through this game and how excited I am that, in going through the game on a normal difficulty, a new game plus has opened it's arms to me!
The atmosphere is a perfectly struck balance between fun and, at times, honestly disgusting in how it presents itself. The abandoned fun of the park starkly contrasted to the biomass of the creatures really leaves an impression and I genuinely could not get over how well designed the entirety of the look, sound, and enemy design was.

Speaking of enemy design, I wanted to shout out a particular favorite design in the Spindle! Seeing it in the game for the first time was such a horrifying ordeal and, despite it being introduced like almost every other monster I had encountered in the park thus far, the fact it was entirely new and SO much bigger than I was as the player character was horrifically daunting and I loved it! It really set a tone that Mara, having only Just gotten used to the Guests themselves, had so much more to experience and so many more mind bending horrors to experience.

The puzzle design was fun and the inclusion of a in theme hint "vending machine" in case of serious trouble was such a smart idea and every step felt like a love letter to games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill without losing any of the charm and I found myself more than once just enjoying the genuine vibe of a saving area or main area for a couple minutes just to really steep myself in the mood of it.

The combat was super nice and felt very easy to pick up and get into without being too easy. I had a lot of fun genuinely hunting around blind and accidently finding items to help me aim, realizing I had some things I had been seriously missing, which made me go back and start pouring over areas for secrets which is something I seriously enjoy.

All in all, a genuinely wonderful game at a wonderful price point with a gorgeous style that's bound to have you asking for more at the end. And, for those that want more, there's that NG+ I mentioned!

Once you complete a full run of the game, you can go back through it and find secret statues to shoot and achieve even higher ranks and it gives it not only replayability but an entirely new game mode to focus on while going through the genuinely good story and game so you have another excuse to go back again and get to explore places you may not have gotten a chance to prior.

I really cannot overstate how much worth this game has for the price ($19.99 with no sale, but during sales it's hit 50% off!) and I am excited to go back and go to Crow Country again!
